A song from Salman Shah-Sabnur’s film ‘Jibon Songsar’ rendered afresh

A popular song from Zakir Hossain Raju directed much acclaimed film ‘Jibon Songsar’, which starred late iconic actor Salman Shah and popular actress Shabnur, has been rendered anew after 21 years for Shamimul Islam Shamim’s film ‘Ammar Prem Aamar Priya. The original film, Jibon Songsar, was released on October 18, 1996, just 41 days after the death of actor Salman Shah, and the song chosen to record afresh was the hugely popular music track ‘Prithibitey Sukh Bole Jodi Kichhu Theke Thake’, originally rendered by popular singers Sabina Yasmin and Agun. The play-back song was written by Zakir Hossain Raju and composed by Abu Taher
DhakaLive has news that, the song has been rendered again, this time with singers Imran and Kheya as voice artists and Ahmed Humayun freshly re-composing the song. Recording of the remake song took place at a studio in the capital’s Moghbazar on March 29. Zakir Hossain Raju, producer of ‘Jibon Songsar’ film Jalil, director Shamimul Islam Shamim, and actors Arju and Porimoni were present at the studio. Director Shamim said that the newly recorded song has been dedicated to late actor Salman Shah.
Before giving voice for the play-back song, both Imran and Kheya talked with the original singers Agun and Sabina Yasmin respectively over the phone and received their blessings.
While sharing his feelings, director Raju said, “Today I am really happy, excited and feel proud. A song of 21 years old has been recomposed in an excellent manner keeping in minds the present time and audience. Imran and Kheya have rendered well for the song. I hope the song will become even bigger a hit than the original one. In the meantime, I will ask Arju and Porimoni not to keep in mind the performance of Salman Shah –Shabnur in the original song, and perform in their own ways instead.”
About rendering the song, Imran said, “Since my childhood, I have listened to the song and performed it on stage many times. But I never thought that I will render it again in a new form. I know I cannot do as good as the original singers, but I tried my best. If I had made any mistake in rendering the song, I hope the listeners will forgive me.” Kheya said, “As the song was originally rendered by Sabina apa, I was quite afraid to freshly render it. But I have tried my level best to render the song properly.” Director Shamimul Islam Shamim said, “I am grateful to Raju Bhai, the director of the original film for allowing to freshly record the song. He had proven that he is a man of a big heart.”
