Seven govt colleges get affiliated to DU

Seven government colleges of the capital have been affiliated with Dhaka University (DU) on Thursday following the directives of the Prime Minister and Education Ministry, reports UNB.
The colleges are Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Begum Badrunnessa Government Girls' College, Mirpur Government Bangla College and Government Titumir College.
DU Vice-chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique held a meeting with the principals of the colleges at his office in this regard.
There are 167,236 graduate and postgraduate students and 1,149 teachers in these colleges which were earlier affiliated with National University.
From now on, admission tests, curricula and examinations of the colleges will be conducted by Dhaka University.
