Wazed Miah’s contributions remembered

Speakers at a discussion yesterday paid rich tributes to the memory of nuclear scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah, husband of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, saying that his contribution to the country will be ever remembered, reports BSS. Hossain Bhuiyan told the discussion hosted by Sadhana Sangsad Foundation marking the 75th birth anniversary of Dr Wazed Miah at Bishwo Shahitto Kendro auditorium.
He said Dr Wazed worked for the nation selflessly with utmost patriotism beyond politics. Bhuiyan said his successes in nuclear science had transcended the country's territory to the international arena. World University Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Mannan Chowdhury said the nation will always remember Dr Wazed Miah as he worked for the nation selflessly. Social worker and freedom fighter Bulbul Mahlanbish, poet Aslam Sunny, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) President Saifur Rahman Sohag and BCL former president HM Badiuzzaman Sohag, among others, addressed the function.
