Reshuffle in military posts

Maj Gen Abedin made director general of DGFI

The government has carried out a reshuffle at the top level of Bangladesh Army by transferring eight senior officers yesterday. Of them, Commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) Major General Md Saiful Abedin was made Director General of The Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) and Director of Military Operation Brigadier General Nayeem Ashfaq Chowdhury was transferred with a promotion to Major General as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 55 Infantry division. Meanwhile, GOC of 55 Infantry Division Major General M Nazim Uddin has been posted as Chief of General Staff (CGS) of Bangladesh Army and Military Secretary (MS) of Army Headquarters Major General AKM Abdullahil Baquee has been transferred as commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) while GOC of 10 Infantry Division Major General Ataur Hakim Sarwar Hasan has been posted as commandant, Log Area of Bangladesh Army Headquarters.
Director General of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence Major  General Mohammad Akbar Hossain has been posted as GOC of 9 Infantry Division and Deputy Force Commander for UN Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) Major General Mohammad Maksud has been posted as GOC of 10 Infantry Division, while GOC of 9 Infantry Division Major General Waker-Uz-Zaman has been posted as Military Secretary of Army headquarters.
