The first ever model United Nations conference of Noakhali Science and Technology University Model United Nations Association (NSTUMUNA) is all set to begin on May 4 at NSTU premises where students can participate as representatives of various countries.
The theme of the conference is ‘empowering citizens as a manifesto to peace’. It will be a platform where the art of diplomacy and the science of innovation will come together to create a perfect symphony. A model UN involves and teaches researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork and leadership abilities.
“NSTUMUN 2017 has been planned to make a world-class assembly of shadow diplomats for the very first time in the coastal region of Bangladesh, from the secretariat we will try our level best to host talented global thinkers on our premises (at Sonapur in Noakhali). We believe in promoting youths for a better future,” said Mofasser Haider Bhuiyan, secretary general of NSTUMUN 2017.
“The responsibility of the young generation is to lead the world. Leading power, debating ability, diplomacy can create an ideal commander. Model United Nations conference is the ideal platform which builds these qualities. As the adviser of NSTUMUNA, I am inviting all the students to participate in NSTUMUN 2017,” said Mahabubur Rahman Farhad, assistant professor of Fisheries and Marine Science Department, NSTU.
