Ferdousi Majumdar receives ‘Naren Biswas Padak’

Ekushey Padak-winning film, television and stage actress Ferdousi Majumdar received this year’s ‘Naren Biswas Padak’ (Naren Biswas Award) at a commemorative event held on the Dhanmondi’s Chhayanaut premises on Friday.
Kanthoshilon arranged a programme followed by an award ceremony in memory of late Bakshilpacharya (elocutionist) Naren Biswas.
Kanthoshilon President Dr Sanjida Khatun handed over the award to Ferdousi  Majumdar while Tofazzal Hossain Mia handed over a cheque to Ferdousi  Majumdar. Cultural personalities Mofidul Haque, Ramendu Majumdar and Dr Sanjida Khatun spoke at the event.
After the award ceremony, the second part of the event featured solo recitation where Fakhrul Islam Tara, Eva Mandal, Nayla Tarannum Kakoli, Iqbal Khorshed, Mehedy Hasan, Hasib Billah, Lutfa Binte Robbani, Masuduzzaman and Israt Mimmi, among others recited poems paying tribute to Naren Biswas.
