‘Jasim Utsab 2016’ on Dec 13

In addition to being a heroic figure in films in the 80’s and 90’s, late actor Jasim is also considered as a liberation war hero. For his contributions towards his country during the war, he will be honoured on December 13 through an event titled ‘Jasim Utsab-2016.’ The event will be held on the occasion of the founding anniversary of Bir Muktijuddha Chitranayak Jasim Smriti Academy at the premises of Bangladesh Film Development Coporation (BFDC) at 5pm. The event will be attended by several artistes, producers, models, singers and will include tribute performances through a cultural programme. Speaking about the event, Bir Muktijuddha Chitranayak Jasim Smriti Academy organisation director Shibcharer Sohel said, “Jasim has acted in about 300 films. To pay tribute to him, every December, during the month of victory, there will be a ‘Jasim Utsab’.
