West Indies hard-hitting opening batsman Chris Gayle arrived in Dhaka to play the T20 tournament of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) fourth edition yesterday. This time Gayle will play for Chittagong Vikings, who signed a deal with him for their next five matches.
Thereafter, if the team could go into the next phase, in that case, they will then pen another agreement with him. Chittagong Vikings is the only team, who already played eight matches. Of them, they played four matches each in Dhaka and Chittagong phase.
They have earned eight points from eight matches and placed fourth on the point table. Actually they bounced back in the contention from Chittagong phase, where they won three matches. In the last match they beat Barisal Bulls by 78 runs.
The management thinks that the team will boost further after joining of this stroke-maker, who will practice with the team’s players at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in the morning session today. T20 specialist batsman earlier played 10 matches for Dhaka and Barisal.
He enthralled the local crowds with his entertaining innings, where he smashed three quick centuries. He scored a total of 541 runs that studded with 35 fours and 50 fours so far.
