Papia Sarwar to receive lifetime achievement award

Eminent Rabindra Sangeet exponent Papia Sarwar has mesmerised the listeners throughout her long, successful career and for her contributions towards her field, she has earned various accolades. Now, she is all set to receive one of the prestigious honours--the lifetime achievement award. She will be bestowed with that honour during the Noyonmoni Sangskriti Sandhya, organised by Shubheccha Sangskritik Forum.
The event will be held tomorrow at 5:30 pm at the premises of Bangladesh National Museum in the capitals Shahbagh area, as confirmed by founding president of Shubheccha Sangskritik Forum Md Moniruzzaman Apurba. Liberation War Minister AKM Mozammel MP will hand over the award to the eminent singer. Papia Sarwar has confirmed that she will be there in person to collect the prestigious award.
Regarding receiving the lifetime achievement award, Papia Sarwar said, Getting recognised for ones work is always special. Whenever I get any type of special recognition, I am always reminded that sincere work always pays off. Getting the lifetime achievement award is reminding me of this thought in a brand new manner. I am very grateful to those who have decided to give me this prestigious honour.
Also, today is the singers birthday, about which she said, Usually I do not prefer any exorbitant celebrations on my birthday. It is usually spent with family members in a quiet homely manner and that is what will happen today as well. Papia Sarwar has been recognised with many accolades for her contributions towards the field of Rabindra Sangeet. Quite recently, she received the Rabindra Puraskar 2013 from Bangla Academy and earlier this year she was also awarded with the prestigious Kalim Sharafi Award.
