Kalim Sharafi to be recalled today

Eminent Tagore singer Kalim Sharafi will be remembered today through a programme featuring discussion and music performance at the Shawkat Osman Memorial Auditorium of Central Public Library, in the capital’s Shahbag area. Bangladesh Rabindrasangeet Shilpi Sangstha, a platform of Tagore singers, organised the event to mark the sixth death anniversary of noted Tagore exponent Kalim Sharafi.
He served as the president of the Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha. Sharafi was awarded with Ekushey Padak in 1985 and Shadhinota Padak in 1999. He received the first Rabindra Award 2010 for his contribution in promoting and preserving Rabindra Sangeet.
