Veteran actor and Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor turns 70 today. DhakaLive has news that he has no plan to celebrate his birthday. Even his theatre organisation, Nagorik will not also hold any special programme on the occasion today. As a result, he will be spending the day like other days of the year.
Recalling his childhood memories, Asaduzzaman Noor said about his birthday, “As I have turned 70 this year, an attempt of celebrating my birthday in a special manner was taken by our theatre troupe Nagorik. But I asked them to restrain from such activities. I don’t want my birthday to be celebrated in the grand manner. Rather, let the day go in a usual way like other days. Even in my childhood, my birthdays were not celebrated in a special manner. My mother might cook a bit more than other days at home on that day. That’s it, nothing was special anymore!”
Stepping into the acting world, Asaduzzaman Mohammad Ali--the elder son of Abu Nazem Mohammad Ali and Amina Begum--was introduced as Asaduzzaman Noor. He involved in politics from his student life, took part in the Liberation War of Bangladesh, then started job and entered into acting from the job life. Now, he is the Cultural Affairs Minister of the current government. Asaduzzaman Noor for the first time acted in the tele-drama titled ‘Ronger Fanus’, while he made his debut in the film through ‘Shonkhonil Karagar’. Then, he acted in several audience-admired films like ‘Aguner Poroshmoni’, ‘Chandra Kotha’ and ‘Daruchini Dwip’, among others.
