Matir Projar Deshe wins best feature film award

Matir Projar Deshe (Kingdom of Clay Subjects)-a feature film from Bangladesh won the Peoples Choice Award for best feature film at this years Chicago South Asian Film Festival 2016. The festival organisers handed over the award to director Bijon Imtiaz on October 9 at 10pm local time.
With 14 other films made in the different languages, including Hindi, Sinhalese, Malayalam, Urdu, Panjabi and English, Matir Projar Desheas only film made in Bangla language in this festivalcontested in the 7th edition of the event that took place from October 5 to 10.
After winning the prestigious award in the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, Bijon Imtiaz expressed his joy through a Facebook status, It has been such an honour that Kingdom of Clay Subjects has won the Best Film Award at this years Chicago South Asian Film Festival, #CSAFF. Our sincere gratitude to all our talented cast and dedicated crew, friends and family.
We are humbled to be in the same line up with such great films. It has been such a great experience in #Chicago to represent #Bangladesh. With his film Matir Projar Deshe, Imtiaz Bijon represented Bangladesh in the queue of the talented directors from the countries like the United States, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Bangladeshs film Matir Projar Deshe was screened on October 9 in the festival. Popular actors Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Rokeya Prachi, Mahmudur Aninda, Sheuli Aktar, Monir Ahmed Shakil and Chinmoyi Gupta acted in the film. To note, Matir Projar Deshe saw its world premiere in the Seattle International Film Festival, and the viewers of Bangladesh will get to watch the film during the Dhaka Intl Film Festival next year.
