Chinese government has given fire and rescue equipment to Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence (BFSCD) to strengthen its capability and efficiency for providing service, reports BSS.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqiang handed over the equipment to the BFSCD at a ceremony at BFSCD Training Complex at Mirpur -10 in the capital yesterday morning.
The equipment, including 100 towing vehicles, 150 water mist fire motorcycles, a big water tanker vehicle, a foam tender, and 250 generators.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chinese envoy said individual development is not enough in the age of globalization; rather China has the role to help the neighboring and friendly countries towards development.
He assured Chinese cooperation will be continued in future for Bangladesh.
Senior Secretary of the Home Affairs Ministry Mozammel Huq chaired the function where BFSCD Director General Brigadier Gen Ali Ahammed Khan also spoke.
