Bangladesh is growing in the vision of Bangabandhu- and under the strong leadership of his daughter, wrote US Secretary of State John Kerry in the visitors’ book of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi during his visit yesterday. He also lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she is fulfilling the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who was assassinated on August 15, 1975. John Kerry visited the Bangabandhu museum in Dhanmondi 32 in the capital just after landing in Dhaka. Radwan Mujib Siddiq, grandson of Bangabandhu, received him at the museum and the visiting US secretary of state paid tribute to the Father of the Nation by placing floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In his message, Kerry also wrote, “What a tragedy to have such brilliant and courageous leadership stolen from the people of Bangladesh in such a moment of violence and cowardice.” Expressing his pride on the Bangladesh-US friendship, he further wrote, “The United States is proud to be a friend and strong supporter of the fulfilment of Bangabandhu’s vision. We look forward to growing and working together for peace and prosperity.”
