The Mascoteers

The Mascoteers

Sheikh Iraj

In 2013, two Bangladeshi brothers, Ashiq and Arif Rahman, formed a game development company, The Mascoteers. When they first started making games, they did not think about selling them from a commercial point of view.To their surprise, they soon realised that there is a huge demand for mobile games.
The Mascoteers started their journey with one full-time developer and one part-time artist, their manager M Shukarno Bin Shareef said. Now, there are more than 15 talented developers, artists, designers and QA engineers working with them. The employees are recruited locally, giving priority to freshers, talented and skilled youths. At the moment, all their games are published under the ‘WebAlive’ banner, which is soon going to be replaced by ‘The Mascoteers’ brand.
360 Degree, Swiperoo and Dropple are some of their most popular games. 360 Degree and Swiperoo was featured by Google Play Store and as a consequence of success, Dropple is also going to be on Google on August 26. All of their games are translated into 21 different languages.
In the last six months, seven games developed by The Mascoteers reached the top 10 in both Apple and Android app stores. So far, they have released over 20 games, which have created a lot of interest in the gaming community. In iOS kids section, their game, Circlify, reached the first place by beating YouTube Kids app.
Their games are based on daily, real life observations and practices. When it comes to ideas, they try to make sure they reach all gender and ages. For example, Swiperoo is inspired by road signs, 360 Degree is based on classic circle concept and the idea of making Dropple came from a simple sketch that one of their members was drawing.
All of their games are free and offered in app purchase to provide more flexibility to the gamer. A gamer can enjoy all the features without paying unless he/she wants to enjoy more exclusive contents. Their games are published worldwide through Google Play Store server and Apple Play Store. By selling their games on such renowned platforms, the games are gaining more popularity and positive feedback from gamers all over the world. Google Play Store, Unitt3D, 148apps, gamecentrereview and many other professional top rated game reviewers and publishers have featured their games.
Their earnings are generated from iOS and Android play store free downloads. People around the world are sharing their feedback which has recently crossed 10,000 plus top rating. Right now, The Mascoteers are working on an ambitious roadmap with a firm goal of bringing  unique games across various platforms  Shareef added.
