Directors Guild election today

The election of Directors Guild, the organisation of television drama makers in Bangladesh, will take place today on the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy premises in the capital.
DhakaLive has news that about 380 members are expected to cast their votes in todays election, which will be conducted by Dr Enamul Haque as chief election commissioner and SM Mohsin and Khairul Alam as assistant commissioners.
Zahid Hasan, Gazi Rakayet and Kayes Chowdhury are contesting for the position of president, while Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raj and SA Haque Alik will compete for the general secretary post.
Besides, for the prominent posts like vice-president, joint secretary, finance secretary and organising secretary, a number of candidates will contest each other.
After completing the voting today, the results will be counted from 5:30 and will be published soon after the completion of all procedures of the election.
Since its inception, six years have passed, the election of the Directors Guild is taking place for the first time. As a result, it has created a buzz and charming environment among the artistes, directors and candidates. l
