Popular actor Shakib Khan appeared in three films during this Eid, which were ‘Shikari’, directed by Abdul Aziz and Jaydev Mukharjee, ‘Samrat’, directed by Mostafa Kamal Raj and Shamim Ahmed Rony-directed ‘Rana Pagla The Mental’. Celebrated Tollywood heroine Srabanti, audience-admired actresses Apu Biswas and Nusrat Imrose Tisha have paired up with the popular actor in these films, which received vast appreciation from the audience this Eid. Because of the popularity of these films, the viewers flocked the cinemas this Eid. From Eid day up until yesterday, the cinemas were filled to the brim with eager and enthusiastic film aficionados who went to watch these three films. A lot of people could not even avail the tickets. This proved without a doubt that viewers are always eager to watch good films. The target audience that the production houses and directors had in their minds, those were the people that flocked the cinemas to view films this Eid.
Shakib Khan himself was very satisfied with the success of his three films. However, despite that, he was slightly sad. Making an earnest request to the government, Shakib Khan said, “This Eid, with so many people eagerly going to the cinemas proved that they actually want to go and watch films and they are very eager to watch local films. However, there are just a number of quality cinema halls in the country, especially in the capital, where the viewers can properly enjoy and experience a film. From the upper middle class to the upper class segment, all types of people went to the cinemas this Eid. Many of them returned as there was a lack of parking facilities and no tickets available. That is why I make a request the government to ensure that just like food inspection, there are also inspections in cinema halls. There should be more cineplex’s in the districts. If the local cinema industry and business is strengthened again, the country will benefit. The youth of the country will not be derailed and through films, they can understand what is right and what is wrong. “
In addition, Shakib Khan has now decided that he will not take any other projects in hand other than big budget projects. The actor shared his thoughts, “I will not involve myself in low budget films, films by special request or films just for the sake of doing a film. I have taken some unfavourable projects in my hand which I aim to complete as soon as possible. I want to maintain the quality of the films that our audiences are so eager to see.”
The actor is currently busy with the shooting of Shamim Ahmed Rony’s ‘Bossgiri’. He has almost completed the work for Hasibur Reza Kallol’s film titled ‘Sotta’. After completing his schedule, Shakib Khan will begin the work for his own production ‘Priyare’.
