Eid shopping in the district has gained momentum with only two weeks left for Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims.
Most of the market places are overcrowded with shoppers from all walks of life.
“There are varieties of collections but prices are beyond reach of the middle income group” – said Taslima Akther, a housewife, who was shopping in a mall in the Maijdee town.
Tanjina, who was shopping in Bishal shopping centre, made the same observation.
Shahubuddin Khokan, owner of Bishal shopping centre, told The Independent that “They offered rare collections. We are selling Dupian Katan sharee at a price of Tk 3800 to 4000, Lahanga Bipasha at Tk 7300. Besides, we are selling Jamdani, Tangail sharees also,” he added. Huge rush is also seen at main shop
