Bangladeshi talented actress Joya Ahsan, who earned immense appreciation from both local and Indian viewers for her stunning presence in the Indian Bengali drama film ‘Rajkahini’ directed by Srijit Mukherji, won the Kolkata’s Tele-Cine Award in the category of best supporting role.
Among others, celebrated Indian actress Rituparna Sengupta won best actress award for her role for the same film ‘Rajkahini’.
Joya informed that the award ceremony was held on Saturday evening at the Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata. The 16th edition of Tele-Cine Award was arranged to give recognition to Bengali films and TV serials. Tele-Cine Society of Kolkata, a non-profitable organisation registered under Society Act. Government of West Bengal, arranges the award ceremony every year.
Director Srijit Mukherji congratulated Joya through Facebook.
DhakaLive has news that Joya in her Facebook account shared a photo taken at the backstage after winning the award. In the photo, Kolkata’s popular actor Rudranil Ghosh, who was awarded for ‘Katmundu’ and lyricist Prosen posed happily with Joya.
To note, ‘Rajkahini’ has been produced based on a historic plot about the partition of Bengal. In August, 1947, the British passed a bill regarding the partition of Bengal.
