Railways minister blessed with baby girl

Hitting headlines two years back for getting married at the age of 67, Railways Minister M Mazibul Hoque has been in news again as he was blessed with a baby girl yesterday, reports UNB. Mazibul Hoques wife Hanufa Akter Rikta gave birth to a baby girl at the citys Square Hospital around 3pm, ministers private secretary (PS) AKMG Kibria Majumder told the news agency. Kibria said both the mother and the newborn are fine and the minister is staying beside them at the hospital. This is the couples first child. Mazibuls personal staff Mosheraf Hossain posted some photographs of the newborn in her fathers lap on his Facebook page.
The minister urged all to pray for his baby girl and wife. He said they will name their daughter shortly as per Islamic tradition. On October 31, 2014, Mazibul Hoque tied the knot with 29-year-old Rikta putting an end to his bachelor life at the age of 67. Amid huge festivities, the wedding ceremony was held at the house of bride Rikta at Mirakhal of Chandina upazila in Comilla. Born in 1947, the lawyer-cum-politician was elected as lawmaker thrice. Former foreign minister Abdus Samad Azad in 1998 and former law minister Abdul Matin Khasru in the late 90s got married while holding office. Both of them married when their previous wives passed away.
