I think an internship is valuable as it gives you a well rounded hands-on experience of the knowledge learned from textbooks, and even more. It helps you to develop a better understanding of your capability to contribute towards an organisation and your career strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. I am a 4th year student of Dhaka University. I was looking for an internship in 2015 when I came across a media startup, Future Startup. They were hiring promising minds as interns. I had absolutely no idea about what to expect. However, once I started this journey, it just kept becoming more exciting and inspiring for me. My basic task is to prepare write-ups on startups and the change makers in our society. Definitely, it has created scope for me to meet inspiring people from different walks of life who have immense passion towards making positive changes in society by utilising their skills. They share with me their success and failures. I also got to lead big events like Bangladesh Startup Cup, Global Money Week, FS Talk and much more. The internship has undoubtedly contributed towards my networking and negotiating skills. From shaping my personal values to my working attitude, to my career preferences, this internship is contributing positively beyond my expectations.
I graduated from North South University and at the moment I am doing my internship at Mercantile Bank Ltd. I believe doing an internship is very important because it allows new graduates to have realistic experience. It allows us to accrue useful skills. Doing an internship teaches us how to perform in jobs. Employers are looking for graduates who have some experience in their major field and the internship provides you with that. I have known students who chose not to do internships and are now having trouble getting jobs. On the other hand, those who do internships are more likely to get the jobs they prefer. Through my internship, I am trying to apply my knowledge to my daily task. I love it and I wish I will get the chance to love my work like this after completing my internship. I am encountering various scenarios where I have to collaborate with proper dissemination of information and documentation. Till now, I am very satisfied with my internship, it has created a huge opportunity for me.
I completed my degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. After completing my studies, I applied to many companies for an internship. NKSoft offered me a three-month internship. I would like to thank them for providing such an opportunity. In the first meeting with CEO John Sakhawat Chowdhury, I was very much impressed about NKSoft. That motivated me to take my internship more seriously. I love the work environment here, as all the employees are very friendly. We work as a family. I am learning a lot. Here I have the opportunity to work in different sectors. I am working in content development, administration, developing NKSoft website pages and data entry. One of the best things about internship is you do not have to be scared if you are wrong. Your seniors always encourage you and help you understand how to do things correctly. I think an internship is important because it provides you different experiences in different environments, where you get to learn a lot. 
For a BBA student of International Islamic University Chittagong, after completing all courses to be eligible for graduation, it is mandatory to do a three-credit internship within a limited period from any organisation. Luckily, I have the opportunity to do my internship at Pacific Jeans Limited, it is a top-ranked garments company of our country. Every day I am exploring new doorways of knowledge and my curiosity increases as I visit one department to another. I am able to learn about dealings with international brands, opportunities of employment, contributions and how one needs to work hard. In the short period of my internship, I am acquiring experiences that will surely be helpful in the long run.
I graduated from Pabna Medical College under Rajshahi University. I am doing my internship at the Pabna Medical College Hospital. Every doctor has to have one-year internship experience and soon my internship will come to an end. I consider this as a golden time of my life. This internship has given me a new identity. Through this, now I am able to gather practical knowledge about people and diseases. I also got the opportunity to meet new people and understand their woes. From my perspective, internship is a vital period of a doctor’s life. We just have the theoretical knowledge from our five years of MBBS course. Through internship, we can directly handle patients, diagnosis and management of diseases. Also, we get the great opportunity to serve the common people. So, I would advise those who are starting an internship to enjoy the period. Sincerely work for people and learn the basics.

It also gives them valuable experience and allows them to apply what they have learned in their academic life. I graduated from the University of Dhaka. I am currently doing my internship at Nestlé Bangladesh Limited. It’s a great place to work. I am working for the professional department. My responsibilities consist of both office work and field work. My experience as an intern here is everything that I had hoped for. From the very first day, I have embraced the passion and enthusiasm that associates have for the company. Every day is a chance to expand my skills by tackling different assignments, whether it be writing, monitoring or researching, I am constantly learning. My supervisors have made me feel incredibly comfortable. They offer me guidance while giving me the opportunity to put my own touch to everything I work on. That been said, internships provide a range of opportunities to build skills and gather experience, which no doubt adds extra points to ones curriculum vitae. Some students take preparation for an internship even before their graduation. Some are even required to do internships to get their degrees or professional registration.
According to Google, an internship is a period of work experience offered by an employer to give students and graduates exposure to the working environment, often within a specific industry, which relates to their field of study. Internships can be as short as a week or as long as 12 months. This week, YI spoke to some interns, who talked about their experience, things they are learning and how they believe an internship will help them in their future career.
