Govt to integrate e-services with Natl e-Service Bus

BSS

The government has taken initiative to integrate its services, info and data with the National e-Service Bus developed under Bangladesh National Enterprise Architecture (BNEA) framework for ensuring seamless information flow, interoperability and reusability of it, official sources said, reports BSS. As part of the initiative all government entities have been sensitized about the introduction of National e-Service Bus and requested to integrate their services, data and information with it.
The World Bank financed Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Government (LICT) of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under ICT Division to develop the National e-Service Bus, an official source of BCC said adding the UK based Ernst and Young (EY) has provided technical assistance to develop the bus.
Talking to the news agency, ICT Secretary Shyam Sunder Sikder said some government entities have started integrating their electronic services, information and data in the National e-Service Bus and lodge registration to ensure seamless flow of their services, info and data.
"Prior to make the National e-Service Bus ready, we held series of meetings with the officials of the ministries, divisions, directorates and departments and sensitize them about developing electronic services, info and data following BNEA specified standard and the process to integrate those in the bus," he said.
Sikder said in line with government's plan to build Digital Bangladesh many government entities have digitized their services, info and data to ensure people's easy access to it.
"But, if any government entity runs data center on disparate and non-standardized component-run architectures there is a chance to create disjointed information silos," the ICT secretary said.
Sikder said the BNEA has been introduced with an aim to refrain the government entities from establishing redundant infrastructures like data centers, multiple government databases with redundant information.
