Actor Arfan turns director

Audience-admired actor Arfan Ahmed has been involved in the supervision of directorial work for over 100 tele-dramas. However, he did not feel the need to include his name in the directorial process. Since he had ample experience in directional activity, he was not enthusiastic about identifying himself as a director. This time around, he decided to include his name and accepted himself as a director for his telefilm ‘Se Kotha Gopan Chhilo’. Directed by Arfan Ahmed, the story of the telefilm has been written by Acharjya Tapas. The cast of the telefilm includes Amirul Haque Chowdhury, Shabnam Parveen, Mahmudul Islam Mithu, Nadia Afrin Mim and Arfan Ahmed himself. Regarding the telefilm, Arfan Ahmed said, “I have been writing tele-dramas since a long time ago and have also been acting regularly. My name is associated with these two titles. Now I feel that my name should also be associated with directing. In the future, if I want to direct more projects, then this should be practiced from now onwards. Since I have been in supervision for several tele-dramas and have good experience, I am not over excited about announcing my name as director for this project. However, my focus is ensuring good work for this telefilm. I hope the viewers will like it.” To note, Arfan Ahmed-acted first tele-drama was Shamsuddoha Talukdar’s ‘Purashkar’, which was aired on BTV way back in 1995. His first drama serial was 1996’s ‘Akali’. Popular director Sokal Ahmed directed the first tele-drama that was written by Arfan Ahmed. In addition, Arfan Ahmed-acted drama serials ‘The Village Engineer’ by Salauddin Lavlu, Al Hajen’s ‘Lorai’, ‘Oloshpur’, Raihan Khan’s ‘Orchid’ are regularly being aired on various television channels. ‘Se Kotha Gopan Chhilo’ will be aired on Channel i this coming Friday at 3pm.
