Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday gifted food and new dresses for children of two orphanages to mark the birth of her granddaughter Azalea Joy Percy, daughter of Tulip Siddiq and Chris Percy.
Talking to The Independent yesterday night, Mahbubul Hoque Shakil, special assistant (Media) to the prime minister disclosed the initiatives.
The foods and new cloths were distributed among orphans of Anjuman Mufidul Islam's Girls’ Homes at Gandaria and Chotto Sonamoni Nibash at Azimpur in the capital, he added.
Prime Minister’s Assistant Military Secretary Lt Col Saifullah brought the gifts to the orphanages, Shakil said.
I seek good wishes and prayer for Tulip’s daughter Azalea Joy Percy from the countrymen, Shakil quoted the PM.
British Labour MP Tulip Rizwana Siddiq, daughter of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s sister Sheikh Rehana, gave birth to a baby girl at London’s Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead on Saturday.
