Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad�s birth anniversary today

The 80th birth anniversary of Bir Shrestha Noor Mohammad Sheikh will be observed today at Noor Mohammad Nagar in Narail. District administration and Bir Shrestha Noor Mohammad Trust have jointly undertaken a day-long programme marking his birth anniversary. Qurankwhani, milad and dua mahfil, rally and discussion will be held at Noor Mohammad Nagar, earlier known as Mahiskhola. A discussion on his life will be arranged at Noor Muhammad Sheikh Library and Memorial Museum auditorium. Noor Mohammad was born on February 26, 1936 at Mahiskhola Village in Narail sadar upazila. He joined the then East Pakistan Rifles (EPR), now Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), on February 26, 1959. Later, he joined the country`s Liberation War in 1971.
