The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), was observed in Chittagong, Rajshahi and Khulna cities with a call to follow the ideology of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on Friday. The day was a public holiday. Our staff reporter adds from Chittagong: Various Islamic and socio-cultural organisations and political parties arranged various programmes like processions, milad in the city marking the day. The city wore a festive look to celebrate the birth of the prophet (PBUH).
Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadia Sunnia Trust arranged the largest procession to mark the day; in the procession hundreds of people attended from different parts of the district. The procession started at 9:45am from Jamia Ahmadia Sunnia Alia Madrasha field led by Allama Syed Muhammad Tahir Shah (MZA), while Allama Syed Muhammad Hamed Shah and Sufi Mohammade Mizanur Rahman, chairman of PHP group were in the vehicle with Allama Tahir Shah.
In Khulna, a discussion meeting and Kirat, Hamd, Nath competition was held under the auspices of the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) yesterday morning at Nagar Bhaban auditorium highlighting the significance of the day. Mayor (acting) of KCC Md Anisur Rahman Biswas was present as chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners. KCC’s ward no-18 councilor Md Maniruzzaman presided over the function. Panel mayor-3 of KCC Ruma Khatun was present as special guest.
The speakers discussed on the life of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SM). They stated the Prophet had left eternal lessons and ideas for establishing the rights of all. It’s possible to achieve peace both in this world and hereafter through following his ideals, said the speakers. They emphasized his contribution to the society. Later, a special Munajat was offered for the development of the country. Various organizations including madrashas, mosques and Islamic organisations of the city took out procession(Jasne Julus) in Rajshahi city in observance of the day. Seroil Colony Baitul Mamur Jame-Mosque and Anjumane Ashrafia organisations took out a huge, colourful rally in observance of the day on Friday morning which started from Seroil area and ended at Central Shah Makhdum (Rs) Dargah Sharif. The devotees offered a special prayer at the dargah seeking peace and progress of the country, nations and the Muslim Ummah.
