‘TQI-II project improves teaching quality’

The Teaching Quality Improvement-II (TQI-II) in Secondary Education Project of the Directorate of Secondary Education under Ministry of Education has been effectively improving teaching quality and skills of the teachers, reports BSS. The views were expressed at concluding ceremony of a 14-day training course on ‘Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for ICT Digital Content Development’ at Rangpur Government Teachers Training College (GTTC) in Rangpur.
A total of 120 teachers with one each from 120 secondary level schools, colleges and madrashas from allover Rangpur division participated in the training course. The training course was aimed at enhancing professional skill of the teachers on ICT, developing digitised content development, teaching methodologies and techniques under the five-year term (2012-2017) TQI-II Project to improve education standard.
District Education Officer of Dinajpur Enayet Hossain attended the concluding ceremony as the chief guest with Principal of Rangpur GTTC Professor Akhter Banu in the chair.
Vice-principal of Rangpur GTTC Amjad Hossain was present as special guest in the concluding and certificate distribution ceremony moderated by its Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator Rawshan Alam.
Participants, including Assistant Teachers Sultana Razia of Rahimbox High School in Dinajpur, Hanif Khan of Dhopadanga High School in Lalmonirhat and Gopal Chandra Roy of Kashibari School & College in Rangpur, addressed, among others.
In their speeches, the participating teachers unequivocally said their outlooks have been changed after learning a lot from the training course on developing digital contents, planning and conducting classes using ICT-based digitised technologies.
They termed the project as the best one and suggested for bringing every secondary level school and madrasha teacher under the training course to enhance their skill and expertise in teaching the students interestingly to make them understand lessons easily.
