Kishore, Jhilik lend voices in new music arrangement

‘Aguner Din’, an iconic duet song in the industry of Bangla music, has recently been rendered by the country’s popular contemporary singers Kishore and Zhilik in a new arrangement. The song was released on YouTube channel Thursday evening.

With the lyric of the song penned down by Rituparno Ghosh, the earlier music arrangement and the tuning of the song was done by Tabun Sutradhar. However, the new music arrangement of the song has been done by Kishore himself.

DhakaLive has come to know that the song ‘Aguner Din’ was released on the official YouTube channel of Anupam Recording Media.

Regarding the song, Kishore said, “It was a plan chalked out all of a sudden by me and Zhilik to sing the song in a new music arrangement. It is true that we cannot even think about surpassing the original version. We just wanted to sing the song as lively as possible. I also tried to give my best in the music arrangement of the song”.

On her part, Zhilik said, “Singing ‘Aguner Din’ in a new arrangement was really the proof of my sincere love for good songs. The liking for the original song has led me to sing the song in a new arrangement. I really liked the way people were appreciating the song.”

The song was used in a film titled ‘Ami Shie Meye’, directed by Amin Babul (Bangladesh) back in 1998. Singers Kumar Shanu and Kabita Krishnamurti lent their voices to the song at that time.
