Inter-English Medium School Football Festival, organised by BAF Shaheen English Medium School (SEMS) got underway at the school’s campus yesterday. It started to witness the participation of 370 players (boys & girls) from 20 renowned English Medium Schools of Dhaka under 3 different categories: U-16 Boys, U-19 Boys, and U-19 Girls.
They all are competing for 6 trophies over the two days of the tournament, according to ISPR press release. In the opening match, BAF SEMS-A team played against Sunnydale School in U-16 Boys category. There was a lot of anticipation and excitement in the match and after breathtaking performances from both the sides BAF SEMS-A team defeated Sunnydale School by3– 0 goals. Hamman Abrar Khan scored the goals.
Earlier, Chairman, Governing Body of BAF SEMS and Air Officer Commanding of BAFBase Bashar, Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Nazrul Islam, BSP, nswc, afwc, psc inaugurated the Football Fest 2020 by releasing balloons and festoons.
As a Special Guest, former captain of Bangladesh National Football Team Mohammad Kaisar Hamid also witnessed the opening match. In his speech, the Chief Guest advised the participants to keep sports part of their lives as they grow older. He said, sport and tough competition with a spirit of fair play would prepare them well for many of the challenges of life.
