Mymensingh press club gets new committee

Amit Roy and Md Saiful Islam have been elected as secretary and joint-secretary respectively in one-year term election of Mymensingh Press Club held at its auditorium on Friday night.

The other office-bearers are- AZM Imamuddin Mukta and Dr KR Islam (vice-presidents); Md Aminul Islam, Jahangir Kabir Jewel, Sharifuzzaman Titu and Md Harun-or-Rashid (departmental secretaries); and executive members- Md Ataul Karim Khokon, Anisur Rahman Hatem, Anwarul Hasan Rumi, Mir Golam Mustafa, Md Babul Hossain, Sheikh Mohiuddin Ahmad and Md Mozammel Haque.

Election for the post of treasurer was postponed as one of the candidates for this post Md Faruquzzaman Khan died of cardiac arrest on Friday morning, sources said.

Deputy commissioner of Mymensingh Md Mizanur Rahman is the ex-officio present of the club.

Advocate AHM Khalequzzaman, a senior member of the club conducted the election as commissioner.

Earlier on Thursday, the annual general meeting of the club was held.
