In memory of Bir Shreshtha Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir, one of the seven greatest heroes of the Liberation War, a special telefilm on his life has been made for the first time. Directed by Dipu Hazra, the telefilm tiled ‘Sei Ami’ will be aired today at 2:45pm on Channel i.
In the story of the telefilm, Mohiuddin Jahangir flees from the Pakistan Army during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. The Pakistan military reaches to his village home in search of him. Failing to capture him there, with the help of a local rajakar, the military now arrives at the house of his maternal grandfather. But things didn’t not happen the way the Pakistan Army expected as Jahangir already left for joining in the freedom fight in Chapainawabganj.
The angry Pakistan army now sets fire to the house keeping Jahangir’s grandfather-mother inside. They succumbed to death. The story moves forward from this tragic point.
The story and screenplay of ‘Sei Ami’ are written by Dr Moinul Khan.
The telefilm stars Arman Parvez Murad, Naznin Haan Chumki, Runa Khan, Azam Khan and others.
