Bangladesh national football team, led by Mamunul Islam is going to Tajikistan with winning mentally when they will take on the hosts in the World Cup qualifying match to be held in Dushanbe on November 12. A 34-member including 11 officials scheduled to leave Dhaka for Dushanbe today in the morning.
Bangladesh, who have already played their four matches World Cup qualifiers, three at home and one in away, could manage one draw and that was against Tajikistan. Bangladesh drew the match 1-1 after leading by 1-0 up to 88 minutes at home ground on June 16.
Bangladesh, suffered defeats in both their home and away matches against Kyrgyzstan by 3-1 and 2-0 respectively while they had another humiliating 5-0 defeat against Australia in Perth on September 3 and 4-0 at home to Jordan on September 8.
However, the head coach and the captain of the Bangladesh team, when to media yesterday said that it would be possible to have a good result. Coach Fabio Lopez said, “We are going there with winning mentality, I expect to win. But it is not our home match and definitely it would be very tough.”
“Our preparation is very well, we have got some new players, young and energetic. Honestly they are doing well.” Captain Mamunul Islam just tipped-off of winning the match, as he said that it is also the match to prove them as he thinks that they are now an improved side.
“It is very much essential for us to win the match to qualify in the next Asia Cup. If we can win the match, the door will be opened for us to go through final round of Asia Cup. So we will try to give best to win the match,” said Mamunul. Mamunul also informed that their fitness level is now up to the mark and every one is working hard to get chance in the first eleven.
