Comilla’s launching ceremony held

With the slogan of ‘Win or Win’ Comilla Victorians formally launched their campaign for the third edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Twenty20 Tournament yesterday. Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, who is also the chief adviser of the team, pressed the button to unveil the team’s logo.
 “Comilla Victorians is a new platform for Comilla that we built but we will work not only for Comilla but also for the country. I am with the other franchises of the tournament. Actually I want to stay with all those, who will work for the cricket of the county. I am and will be with cricket,” said Mustafa Kamal. “Cricket is the source of my inspiration. What I achieved throughout my life that came from cricket. At initial stage, I gave enough for cricket but I got more than it,” he told media during the programme.
“No compromise with corruption. My uncompromised movement against corruption, that I launched from Melbourne, will continue at all levels of cricket,” Kamal, who was in the higher echelon of ICC, ACC and BCB, added. Bangladesh ODI and T20 skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was announced as the captain of Comilla Victorians by Nafeesa Kamal, chairman of the Victorians at a formal programme at a local in the capital.
“For the courtesy of lottery, all the franchises formed the best possible teams for the upcoming BPL. We will try to play our utmost best for the success of Comilla Victorians,” Mashrafe said after being announced the captain of Victorians.   Thereafter, the jersey of the team was also revealed in presence of the Victorian local players, distinguished guests including directors of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), representatives of sponsors, partners of the team. Nafeesa also introduced former wicketkeeper-batsman Khaled Mashud Pilot as team manager and Mohammad Salahuddin as head coach at the stage.
She announced to help the deprived children of the country through Jaagoo Foundation. Later, Mashrafe handed over his signature-inscripted bat to some children of the foundation. Pop-singer Mila and Taposh, who lent their voices to the theme song, enthralled the audience of the function with ‘Maro re sokka, maro re char ke ase samne sahos ase kar. Along with that, Nafeesa introduced the couple of film-actor and actress Ananta Jalil and Barsha as the brand ambassadors of the team at the stage. Jalil and Barsha said in their reaction that they will help create the hype for Comilla Victorians.
