Shakibs name in players draft for 100-ball tourney

Along with some of the worlds best cricketers, Bangladesh national team ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been named in the players draft for the inaugural edition of the 100-ball tournament The Hundred, scheduled to be played from July 17 July to August 16, 2020.
Shakib, now playing for Barbados Tridents in the Caribbean Premier League, has become the first Bangladeshi player named in the draft as an overseas player.
With the players draft set to be held October 20 this year, some world cricket superstars like Eoin Morgan, Steve Smith and Chris Gayle have already made themselves available for the tournament.
An eight-city based franchise teams Manchester Originals, Northern Superchargers, Birmingham Phoenix, Trent Rockets, Western Fire, London Spirit, Oval Invincible and Southern Brave will compete in the competition.
In this new edition of cricket, each team is to be formed with 15 players with three maximum overseas players while there will be a total of 32 league matches in round-robin system and the play-offs will be held as Page playoff system, the format used in the IPL.
One exceptional feature in this event is, there will be 10 ten-ball overs with bowlers can deliver 5 or 10 consecutive balls.
There are seven set salary bands, with up to two players to be picked at each of the following : 125,000, 100,000, 75,000, 60,000, 50,000, 40,000 and 30,000. Captains will receive a bonus of 10,000.
