The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has asked the Director of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Mahbubul Anam, to submit his wealth statement. The national anti-graft body took the initiative yesterday after allegations of amassing illegal wealth were levelled at him. The BCB director was given 21 working days to provide the details as per a notice sent by the ACC, said ACC Spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya.
In its initial probe, the ACC found evidence of over Tk 620 million worth of assets in Mahbubul’s name and issued the notice after failing to find a credible source of the wealth. ACC Deputy Director Md Manzur Alam is leading the investigation into the allegations against the BCB director.
Mahbubul runs various businesses, including freight forwarding, tourism and courier services. He is currently serving the Bangladesh Freight Forwarders’ Association as its president.
