Three arrested for gang-rape of woman

Three youths were arrested for allegedly gang-raping a dance artist in Sonargaon upazila on Monday night.

Police identified the arrestees as Mahmudul Hasan Himel, 23, Shafiqul Islam, 24, and Md Sajib, 20.  The incident took place at Lakkhonkhola in Sonargaon Bandar Thana in Sonargaon upazila.

Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Sonargaon Police Station, said he and Narayanganj-Kha area's Additional Superintendent of Police Khorshed Alam arrested the trio after visiting the spot.  The youths have confessed to raping the woman, police said, adding that they are looking for two other suspects.
