to hit Dhaka cinemas today

‘Hobbs & Shaw’ (also known as ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw’), an American action film directed by David Leitchis, is going to hit the screens of two prominent multiplexes in the capital. Along with its US release, the film will be released today at the Star Cineplex of both Bashundhara City Shopping Mall and Shimanto Shambhar and Blockbuster Cinemas of Jamuna Future Park.

Written jointly by Chris Morgan and Drew Pearce, based on a story by Morgan. It is a spin-off of ‘The Fast and the Furious’ franchise centred around Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, the titular characters introduced in the main series.

The story of the film follows, ever since hulking lawman Hobbs, a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw, a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo has swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down. But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever--and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent, who just happens to be Shaw’s sister--these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be worse than themselves.

The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba and Vanessa Kirby in different roles.
