Rupali was the best friend of today’s popular film actress Mahiya Mahi and they studied together in the same school in their childhood. Rupali died from an electric shock when she was a student of class six, and very unfortunately, the tragic incident took place on Mahi’s birthday. From that day Mahi never planned to celebrate this special occasion of her life, her birthday. But the scenario centring Mahi’s birthday celebration is dramatically changed nowadays after she started working in the media. Though Mahi doesn’t do anything on the occasion, her fans and well-wishers arrange special programmes to celebrate her birthday. But she doesn’t feel comfortable with such acts as she lost her best friend on this very day.
Today is the birthday of Mahi, and like the previous years, she is not celebrating the day. Rather, she will leave the city any moment without informing anyone for staying away from the people. She wants to pass the day silently and reminiscing childhood memories of her beloved friend, Rupali.
Mahi said, “I used to enjoy a lot on my birthday in my childhood. But after the tragic death of Rupali on my birthday, I never do anything on this day. I do not feel well about it. I always pray that may almighty grant her Jannah. Truly speaking, Rupali was my best friend, and her emptiness has not been fulfilled yet in my life.”
On the occasion of her birthday, Mahi sought everyone’s blessing for her safe and healthy life. At the same time, she also requested all to visit cinema halls to watch Bangla films.
To note, Mahi has her hands full with three films right this moment; the films are– Meher Afroz Shaon’s ‘Krishnapakkha’, Dipankar Dipan’s ‘Dhaka Attack’ and an untitled film by Malek Afsari. l
