Role of the media in promoting
quality education

Bangladesh is one of the most populous countries in the world. To survive in the current competitive world, this large number of people will have to be transformed into human resources through timely education. And the media can play special role in spreading education. The overall education structure of the country is part of the main framework of society. In the overall judgment, the role of education and culture is to form a society. Education and culture affects the behaviour of a person and influences the social work, which reflects in the overall action of the people. The more people are increasing, the dependence on the media is increasing also.

Education promotes people's desire to know; media provides information. To make it clear, media increases people's interest by providing information or news. People need to look at the media for their own needs. In the eyes of the media, people see society, see the country and see the world. Now it has become a norm in the world, because media works with people in the society and around the society. In the same way, media is the essence of everything happening in life and the world. The courage of truthful expression is the overwhelming power and unique property of the media. This force attracts us, influences us.

People always want to know information about their interests, want to know different items of news. Education shows the way to enrich people. The mass media raises public opinion by publicizing inconsistency, discrimination, irregularities and oppression to save the rights of public. The media has to fight for the truth. Media is the medium of the people. One of the main responsibilities of the media is to work in accordance with its own characteristics. If the media loses its own characteristics, definitely it will lose the credibility of people.

Media work is not just about serving the news, even more. People want to analyze the news. Proper analysis shows the pace and future of the subject. Now, for many reasons, the dependence of the society on the media is much more. So now the media has more influence. This effect is the key power of the media, the tool of social change. Media is the messenger of positive change in society. The media has its own strength. Education also has its own strength.

Through the use of work, the power of media and education is born. So, how to use the media and how to use it to ensure quality of education is quite significant. So far, a large part of our society enters into the work life based on primary education. Education means standard education. But this has not yet been established in our education system or in ongoing education. Again we are talking about education for all. This is our commitment.

Therefore, the term standard education should also be included, because one of the indicators of development is quality education. The first step of institutional education is primary education. If the level of basic education is standard, the foundation of children's education will be strong and sustainable. As a result, it will be very easy to standardize the next level of education.

So how can we improve the quality of primary education, we need to find out the way through necessary and effective research, because education, especially primary education, is our vital energy, the key to the development of human resources. Having quality education is the constitutional right of the people. Media is the medium of mass communication. The media has played an important role in meeting the needs of people's information. So, daily interaction of the public with the media is integral.

The media also informs the people about various pieces of news relating to education. The media has an important role to play in ensuring standard primary education. Now it is necessary to determine the role that the media can play in ensuring the quality of primary education based on the opinion of all relevant education authorities, eminent thinkers, educators, social workers, social analysts, writers, journalists, media experts, teachers, guardian students, and educationists, preparing guidelines and policies and the implementation of policy.

Standard primary education is a fundamental and strong step towards human development. Standard education and sustainable human resources development is one of the tools to build rich and digital Bangladesh. It is now time to build a quality standard of primary education. The quality of education is relative and there is no definite definition, because in the transformational world, the range of knowledge is changing and providing social needs are expanding. In addition to this, efforts are made to maintain the standard of education and to maintain the quality of education within the prescribed period. However, there are some features that can be achieved through acquiring knowledge, data gathering, and proficiency.  As the world community progresses; the need for quality education increases also. As the importance of quality education is increasing day by day, Bangladesh is continuing various attempts by emphasizing the improvement of primary education. But the country is not being able to achieve success. The media can notify why it is not successful, where the problems are, how can it be resolved.

Ensuring standard primary education is a national programme. Our future is involved with this programme. In that sense we all are the partners of this programme. If the media comes forward in its own way, the successes of the nationwide implementation process should be highlighted, as well as problems will be identified, and also the way to solve the problems will come forward. It is expected that the media will fulfill the responsibilities by proper monitoring. This will increase the publicity of the programme and increase the media coverage.
