Channel i, in association with Aarong Dairy, is organising the country’s first reality show on folk music titled ‘Aarong Dairy-Channel i Banglar Gaan 2015’. With the slogan ‘Bangla Amar Bhasha, Ami Bangali’, the event aims at collecting the folk songs--those are deeply connected with the psyche of the country and resonates through the villages of Bengal--from the root level, adding the collected songs permanently to treasuries of folk song, and to introduce them to the younger generation. On the occasion of making an official announcement ahead of the show, first of its kind in the country, a press conference was held on Thursday at Channel i premises. Among others, Channel i managing director Faridur Reza Sagor and Aarong dairy and foods enterprise director Toufiqur Rahman, singers Rothindronath Ray, Rizia Parveen, Selim Chowdhuty, Haider Hossain, Shahnaz Bely and Joler Gaan’s Rahul were present at the event.
TA total number of 102 contestants, 15 from each division, will be selected through audition. Then, 48 contestants will be selected through the selection process. Ultimately, 12 contestants will contest in the main competition.
The jury members will include a guest judge along with two main judges as prominent Rabindra Sangeet singer Rezwana Chowdhury Bonna and popular rock musician Ayub Bachchu.
Channel i will air the programme every Monday at 7:50pm from December 7.
