‘Biswa Sundori’ starts journey on National Film Day

The film to mark Chayanika Chy’s directorial debut

What could be a more suitable occasion than the National Film Day for announcing a new film? Celebrated TV drama director Chayanika Chowdhury has done the perfect job as she announced her directorial debut film titled ‘Biswa Sundori’ yesterday on the National Film Day at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital.

With the story, screenplay and dialogue written by Rumman Rashid Khan, the film will be produced by Sun Music and Motion Pictures Limited. The film will have an array of star-studded casts which include Siam Ahmed, Pori Moni, Suborna Mustafa, Munira Mithu and Ananda Khaled, among others.

‘Biswa Sundori’ will be the first silver screen production of Sun Music and Motion Pictures Limited.  

Expressing her feelings about the directorial debut film, Chayanika Chowdhury said, “Sometimes emotion speaks better than words. Right this moment, my emotions are acting out the same way. A director has always a dream of directing a film once in his or her life; now, my dream is going to be fulfilled finally.”

“Sun Music and Motion Pictures Limited as producer and Rumman’s story are now my strength to make my dream come true. I would like to thank God almighty, our producer Anjan Chowdhury, my family and others, who are supporting me in this journey”, she added while expressing her gratitude to the concerned partners.

“The viewers are intelligent and they always want good content. I may not be a talented director, but I am a hard-working director. I believe they trust in me and I would try to keep that belief intact. I intend to present them a good film,” Chayanika said        

Following her oath as a Member of Parliament, this is the first film of Ekushey Padak-winning actress Suborna Mustafa. She said, “I have known Chayanika since her childhood. When she told me that the character in the film will be a perfect one for me, I instantly agreed to her proposal.”

One of the country’s well-known young stars in showbiz, Siam Ahmed will be playing a lead role in the film. In his speech, he said, “I have worked with Chayanika Chowdhury in multiple audience-admired projects. Didi (Chayanika Chowdhury) is always a renowned name in direction arena, and will remain popular in the future as well.”

“I have another reason to act in this film which is I would share the screen with popular actress Suborna Mustafa. Even though we never shared screen in any small screen project, but I believe it would be our best work”, the actor added further.

Playing the character of Shoma in ‘Biswa Sundori’, it would be Pori Moni’s latest film after ‘Swapnajaal’. Pori Moni said, “I have the same feelings as I had felt when my name was announced for my first film. The whole cast and crew as well as the film’s director are new to me, I seek blessing from everyone, so that I can play my character accordingly.”

Kamrul Hasan Khosru is working as the cinematographer and the film’s broadcast partner is Maasranga Television.
