LPG Association elects new president, vice-president

Azam J Chowdhury, chairman of East-Coast Group and director of Omera Petroleum Ltd, and Shayan F Rahman, executive director of Beximco Group and director of Beximco LPG Limited, have been elected president and vice-president, respectively, of LPG Association of Bangladesh.  This decision was unanimously taken at a recent meeting of the association, a press statement said yesterday.

Azam J Chowdhury is the chairman of Prime Bank and also the managing director of MJL Bangladesh Ltd and the director of Central Depository of Bangladesh (CDBL). He is the president of Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies (BAPLC), Bangladesh Energy Companies Association (BECA) and Bangladesh Ocean Going Ship Owners’ Association (BOGSOA). Shayan F Rahman is a member of the SAARC Youth Chamber Executive Committee. He is also

the director of Abahani Limited and the chairman of BPL franchisee Dhaka Dynamites.
