3 Pubali Bank officials held over fund embezzlement

Three Pubali Bank officers of Chawkbazar Branch in Chattogram were arrested after they were handed over by the bank authorities to police on Sunday on charge of embezzling Tk12.86 crore. The officials were identified as Chawkbazar Branch Manager Enamul Karim Chowdhury, 42, Junior Officer Ekramul Reza Rezvi, 34, and Officer (Computer) Chandan Dey. They officials were handed over to police by Pubali Bank Limited Deputy

General Manager Md Manjurul Islam on Sunday and the information was disclosed yesterday. Officer In-charge (OC) of Chawkbazar Police Station Nizam Uddin said Deputy General Manager Md Manjurul Islam filed a case against seven officials of the bank alleging embezzlement of money.  Of the seven accused, the three were arrested while the rest are on the run, he added.
