Joya attends press meet of �Rajkahini� in Kolkata

A full-length Bangla feature film titled ‘Rajkahini’, featuring beautiful and talented Bangladesh actress Joya Ahsan, is set to hit Kolkata cinemas on October 16. The film is directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Shree Venkatesh Films of Kolkata. On the occasion of film’s release, the casts of the film attended a press conference on Saturday night at Hotel Hindustan in Kolkata. Along with the other leading artistes of the film, Joya Ahsan was also present at the press conference.
Joya, who will be seen playing as Rubina in ‘Rajkahini’, said to the journalists at the press conference, “I have learnt many things while working in the film. Besides learning history, I have also been enriched with different experiences. At the same time, we had to work hard, and we will be happy if the audience would watch our firm labour in the film.”
The film has an ensemble cast containing eleven major female characters. The film has been produced based on a historic plot about the partition of Bengal. In 1947 August, the British passed a bill regarding the partition of Bengal. The movie primarily revolves around a Zamindar house in Rajshahi district of Bengal. The partition border would run through the middle of the house and how the residents of the house defend their freedom. Joya said about working in the film, “Though I worked in several Kolkata films earlier, this is for the first time that I got an opportunity to work in any of Srijit Mukherji’s films. It is really a matter of good luck for an artiste to work with such a brilliant director like him.” Apart from Joya—who will be seen playing as Rubina, popular actress Rituparna Sengupta of Kolkata, among others, acted in the film. l
