Deloitte enters Bangladesh

Deloitte, the largest accounting professional services firm in the world with its presence in more than 150 countries, has started functioning in Bangladesh by opening an office in Dhaka.

The company announced its presence at a press conference officially at a hotel in the capital yesterday.  

Addressing at the programme, Joydeep Datta Gupta, board member, Deloitte Bangladesh said that Deloitte’s on–ground presence will enable it to offer a diverse range of professional services to clients as it brings together local expertise combined with global best practices.   

When journalists asked, “what’s different about Deloitte?” Gupta answered and said, “We have helped Deloitte member firm clients, our people, and sections of society to achieve remarkable goals, solve complex problems or make meaningful progress.”

To strengthen Deloitte’s service offerings in Bangladesh, Nurul Faruk Hasan and Co (Nufhas) and Business Consulting Services (BCS) have become part of Deloitte. With this, Deloitte Bangladesh will have an existing base of more than 100 professionals and highly respected clients, and hopes to grow this team by

several times in the next few years.

Deloitte has come to Bangladesh at a time when the country is experiencing a sustained GDP growth rate of more than 7.5 per cent, rising per capita income and improved social indicators.
