Popy set to make debut in web series

National Film Award winner Sadika Parvin Popy is all set to make her debut in a web series.

Under the direction of Ananya Mamun, the actress will be seen playing the titular role in the web series ‘Indubala’.

DhakaLive has news that Popy returned from Kolkata on October 21 after completing the shooting of a few episodes of the web series.

The actress said she would be leaving for Kolkata again for the shooting very soon. “Right from the beginning of the web series, I was supposed to play the character of Indubala. They tried another actress for the role, but finally decided to stick to the original decision. So, I’m portraying the role of Indubala in the web series,” Popy said about the web series.

“The series is produced in a cinematic way. Even a few years back, such ideas were rare in Bangladesh. I’m proud to have been a part of this web series. Let’s see how the audiences accept this,” she said.

On the other hand, Popy is going to start the shooting for two new films very soon; these are Bulbul Bishwas’s ‘Cut Piece’ and Kazi Amirul Shova’s ‘Save Life’.

Besides, the actress has almost finished the work of Sadek Siddiqui’s film ‘Sahoshi Joddha’. She has already started shooting for the film ‘Kathgoray Sarat Chandra’, where she is playing the role of Parvati while Ferdous will be playing the character of Devdas.

Recently, the actress has also appeared in a detergent soap commercial opposite actor Riaz.
