Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) is organising an evening of Bharatnatyam dance recital with Sankari Mridha and two associates Swarnali Kundu and Lisa Chatterjee from India, today at its Gulshan premises. Bharatnatyam exponent Sankari Mridha started her training in dance under Smt. Jayalakshmi Eshwar at Triveni Kala Sangam in New Delhi. She got further training in Bharatnatyam from well known Bhartanatyam dancers Shri Rajdeep Banerjee in Kolkata and Kirti Ramgopal in Bangalore. She performs in Kaalakshetra style which is innovative as well as traditional. She is a performer, choreographer and also a teacher. She was a dance choreographer in ‘JM International School’, New Delhi for 3 years and got ‘ISA Award’. She has also performed in ‘West Bengal Dance Federation Presents Stars of Tomorrow 2015’. Besides this, she has performed in many classical dance festivals in Bangladesh and India. At present, she is working as a teacher in Bharatanatyam Dance at Dhaka IGCC.
