At least 75 educational institutions, including 72 private and public universities, are going to participate in the two-day ‘National Collegiate Programming Contest’ at International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) in Uttara on Friday.
The ‘IUBAT National Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC)-2018’ will be organised in collaboration with the ministry of posts, telecommunications and information technology on August 3 and 4.
A total of 149 teams, including three teams of female contestants, have been registered from 72 universities, two colleges and one polytechnic institute for the contest. Out of total 29 prizes, the first 10 positions will be announced as prize winners. Besides, eight winners will be selected from eight divisions of the country.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) of IUBAT Dr Abdur Rab revealed the information at a press conference on its campus.
“The aim of the programming contest is to encourage our youths in computer programming. The country which can develop best programming is dominating the world,” he said.
“The students have to build skills in the field of programming. A good programmer needs dedication and interest in this field for developing the quality programme,” he added.
