Tragic death of NSU student could have been avoided

Police yesterday said that Saidur Rahman Payel, the North South University student who was killed in a bus accident, could have been saved had he been rushed to a hospital. At a press briefing, Munshiganj police superintendent Zayedul Alam revealed this to reporters yesterday.

On July 21, Payel, along with two of his friends, started from Chattogram to Dhaka in a bus of Hanif Paribahan (Dhaka Metro-B-9687) at 10:15pm.

The bus got stuck in a traffic jam near the Bhatar Char Bridge on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway around 4am. At that time, Payel got off the bus to respond to nature's call.
