A low may start brewing in the north Bay of Bengal in the next couple of days, spurring the monsoon system over the country, bringing more rain on Friday that may continue for the next few days, Shahinur Islam, a meteorologist at the Dhaka Met Office, said yesterday (Wednesday).
The trough of monsoon running all the way from India’s Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha and the Assam states, down central Bangladesh has remained weak. It is fairly active and moderate over the north Bay, from where most clouds generate rain over the country.
On Tuesday, the met forecast for the next five days had said that rain/thundershower activity might increase. It now seems that it is going to begin on Friday and continue throughout Saturday and Sunday. The monsoon, aided by the low in the Bay, may become active and result in a wet weekend.
